When you are hungry? I mean really hungry what is the first
thing you go for?
It’s usually food right?
What kind of food looks appealing at that time?
Usually it’s something that contains carbohydrate, it may be
cooked, fried or baked, it could be sweet or savory and most
importantly, it is very good looking.
And oh one last thing it’s easily accessible. Now are you guilty? Lols
The truth about many of these treats is that it’s “sweet
in the mouth but bitter in the belly” (The preacher’s voice here).
I can hear you ……… The belly has no taste buds.
Well…You are right it has no taste buds. But when it gets
what it needs, its happy and functions well. When your
stomach, gets these wonderful, delicious, treats
(A.K.A junk food); it’s not so happy and that leads
to an upset stomach, a large belly and so much more.
Now an upset stomach and a large belly may not really
hurt. (At first) But I’m going to shock you.
Many times when we are hungry, it’s really that our body
needs fluids to keep us going. Your body requires between
2.5l to 3l to function.
Sugar and treats are great, and they do a good job of
filling us up fast. But thirst sometimes is read by our
bodies as hunger.
Funnily enough, water is as accessible as the various
treats we jump at so quickly to quench hunger while
we are at work, during the day or working into the
middle of the night
Now you and I already know the danger’s of Sugar,
but just in case someone new is reading this I’ll go
Sugar is great as it gives us instant energy but when
it is too much, it is a breeding ground for germs in
the body. It’s also a breeding ground for cancer,
Sorry to spoil your Saturday treat. (Smile)
Did you know that, your stomach and other parts
of your digestive system are rich sources of
microorganisms that help your body function
However, when we have one too many of these
fast foods, we destroy the defense system
carefully and wonderfully laid out in our stomachs.
Is it any wonder? That, little changes in the weather
make us and our kids allergic. Our bodies have a hard
time dealing with stress. Our bodies are constantly in
So, are you guilty?
The watch dog is on this week.
Next time you are really hungry, take a cup of water
first and if you must snack, take something natural like
a fruit or vegetable.
Don’t forget, next time you are hungry, it may just be
your body’s way of saying “I’m thirsty, I need water”.
If you don’t have 8 cups of water daily you are guilty
of not taking proper care of yourself.
Make it a habit today to take water daily. Place a large
bottle of water daily on your desk with a cup. This will
help remind you.
It’s the legal doc
